This master's program centers on environmental planning and is structured around project-based learning. Students engage in two major projects that integrate theoretical, methodological, and practical skills across planning, design, society, and policy. These projects are supported by excursions and complemented by modules in planning tools and techniques. The program comprises 78 ECTS in compulsory modules—including the projects and the master’s thesis—alongside 24 ECTS in core and complementary compulsory electives, and 18 ECTS in freely chosen electives. This structure allows students to personalize their academic focus through project selection and interdisciplinary or closely related elective modules.

This master's program requires a degree in a relevant field such as environmental planning, ecology, landscape architecture, urban and regional planning, geography (with a focus on physical geography and GIS), environmental sciences, or a closely related subject. Applicants must demonstrate at least 90 ECTS in coursework related to environment and planning. Since the program is taught in English, proficiency at CEFR level C1 is mandatory. German language skills are not required but acquiring basic German before starting the program is recommended for international students.

This master's program offers specialized training in wood technology, allowing students to choose from three distinct tracks to shape their professional focus. The “Complex Timber Structures” specialization prepares students to plan and design advanced timber constructions such as multi-story and hybrid buildings, emphasizing structural performance, fire safety, building physics, and digital design processes like BIM. The “Management of Processes and Innovation” track trains students to lead innovation and process design within wood-related industries, applying methods like business process intelligence, agile management, and AI. The new “Innovation in Bio-based Materials” specialization focuses on developing sustainable materials and products, incorporating ecodesign, lifecycle analysis, and advanced biopolymer technologies.

Across all tracks, students undertake semester-long projects involving practical case studies and product development, often in collaboration with industry partners. The program strongly integrates research and hands-on work, offering access to advanced infrastructure and the Timber Technology Park for prototype development and testing. Research opportunities include topics like structural and earthquake engineering, fire safety, sustainable materials, and digitalization in the wood and construction industries.

This master's program is designed for students who want to deepen their technical expertise in wood technology. It is open to those who hold a bachelor's degree in wood technology, timber engineering, civil engineering, materials science, or another engineering discipline, provided they have completed 210 ECTS credits. Applicants who lack some credits may be allowed to earn up to 30 missing credits during their master’s studies. The program is taught entirely in English and may also admit candidates based on strong academic performance, even if they do not meet all standard admission criteria.

The program in Engineering for Historic Building Rehabilitation focuses on the conservation and structural enhancement of heritage structures. It covers construction technologies, seismic safety, architectural conservation, and materials science, with a strong emphasis on cultural heritage and historic masonry. Courses address both the technical and historical aspects of building preservation. In the second year, students undertake advanced design and rehabilitation work and can choose between a thesis-only final project or options involving internships or international mobility. Electives allow further specialization in materials, environmental impact, and sustainable structural practices.

Admission to the program requires a degree in civil engineering, architecture, or building sciences, or the fulfillment of specific credit requirements in architecture, engineering, and mathematics/physics subject areas. Candidates with foreign qualifications are assessed individually for alignment with these criteria. Students who have not yet graduated may apply if they have earned at least 165 ECTS. Proficiency in English at B2 CEFR level is mandatory and must be proven through accepted certificates or qualifying academic background. While Italian is not required for admission, basic knowledge is necessary for a mandatory second-year course. EU students typically pay around €1,200/year based on family income. Non-EU students usually pay a fixed fee of about €1,400/year. Check with the university for your exact fee.

The bachelor's program offers an intensive 8-semester curriculum totaling 240 ECTS. It combines architectural design, urban planning, construction, history, sustainability, freehand drawing, and digital tools like BIM. Students engage in both theoretical courses and hands-on studio work, including interior and landscape design, public space projects, and advanced modeling. The program culminates in a diploma project and professional internship, with elective courses supporting specialization in areas such as ecological architecture, revitalization, and historical preservation.

Applicants must have passed mathematics and English at the secondary school leaving exam. For English, a minimum score of 60% at advanced level or 30% at bilingual level is required. Additional subjects considered include a second foreign language, drawing skills exam, or a vocational diploma (e.g., architectural restoration or landscape architecture technician). Not passing an additional subject does not disqualify the candidate, but results in a score of zero for that subject.
