This master's program focuses on sustainable and energy-efficient building practices, combining technical, managerial, and regulatory perspectives. In the first semester, students study technology, economics, business, and law. The second semester includes management, a lecture series on sustainable building conversions, smart building systems with renewable energy integration, and energy performance analysis. The third semester centers on the master’s thesis and two compulsory electives, which may include topics such as energy-efficient societies, circular economy in buildings, or life cycle assessment (LCA) principles. Some electives may also count toward a related MBA in Building Sustainability.

This master's program requires a completed university degree equivalent to at least 210 ECTS credits, recognized by German universities, and a minimum of one year of relevant professional experience after graduation. All documents must be submitted in English or German, or with certified translations if issued in another language. Since admission is competitive, applicants are evaluated based on their previous academic performance, relevance of prior coursework, professional experience, English language proficiency at CEFR level B2 or higher, and the quality of their motivation and overall application. Optional test scores like GMAT or GRE may strengthen the application. Required documents include a motivation letter, statement of purpose, CV, proof of work experience, and a portfolio if applicable.

This two-year master’s program offers a wide range of courses in structural design, materials, hydrology, geotechnics, and building systems. Students can specialize in areas like bridges, concrete, smart buildings, or environmental impact. The final semester is dedicated to a 30-credit master’s degree project in the chosen field.

Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (180 ECTS or equivalent) with coursework in structural mechanics, geotechnology, materials, and math/programming. English proficiency equivalent to Swedish course English 6 is required (e.g., IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90). All required documents must be submitted according to University Admissions instructions.

This bachelor's program approaches architecture and urban planning as a discipline at the intersection of technology and art, combining design training, construction principles, and artistic practice from the outset. It is delivered full-time over four years in English.

The first semester introduces composition, construction, descriptive geometry, digital architectural tools, the fundamentals of architectural design, an introductory overview of architecture and urban planning as a field, mathematics, typology, and visual art creation. The second semester builds on this foundation with the history of architecture and art, the use of color in architecture, further coursework in construction and descriptive geometry, a first design studio, freehand architectural drawing, and continued study in typology, digital architectural tools, and visual art.

Applicants must have completed full secondary or secondary vocational education; those who completed this schooling abroad must obtain official recognition that their qualification meets the required standard. Applicants must submit a CV and a notarized copy of their school leaving certificate, submitting it shortly after graduation if it is not yet available at the time of application, and applicants with disabilities or specific needs are encouraged to inform the admissions office so that suitable arrangements can be made for the entrance exam. Because instruction is in English, applicants must also submit a certificate of English proficiency, such as TOEFL, IELTS, or a minimum level of B2, or proof that their prior secondary education was conducted in English.

Admission is decided entirely through a talent-based entrance examination rather than prior academic performance; high school grades and extracurricular activities are not factored into the decision. The exam consists of five scored tasks: two linear pencil drawings completed from a model, worth up to 250 points each; a pencil-drawn spatial composition based on geometric solids, worth up to 250 points; a written test of general knowledge in architecture, art, and design, worth up to 100 points; and a spatial imagination test, worth up to 250 points, for a combined maximum of 1,100 points. A minimum of 450 points is required for admission. Applicants must also submit an electronic portfolio of at least ten original graphic works demonstrating drawing proficiency grounded in realistic visual perception, with accurate proportions and shapes.

This master's program focuses on contemporary architectural design through an integrated approach combining theory, practice, and critical thinking. Students choose one of three specialization tracks: Craftsmanship, which emphasizes material experimentation, tectonics, and spatial articulation; Mediating Tactics, centered on architecture as a cultural and political medium; and Urban Cultures, which explores architecture’s role in diverse social, urban, and ecological settings. The curriculum includes design studios, seminars on architecture theory and history, sustainable design, and professional practice, along with a master's thesis. The program fosters analytical, technical, and creative skills to prepare students for global architectural practice and research.

To apply for this master's program, candidates must hold a bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or a related field. The application must include a digital portfolio (maximum 20 slides) showcasing academic work, especially in architectural and urban design, and a signed recommendation letter from an academic or professional reference. Applicants must prove English proficiency through one of the following: IELTS (minimum 7.0 overall, no subscore under 6.5), TOEFL iBT (minimum 94, no subscore under 22), or Cambridge English CAE (minimum 185, no subscore under 176). Exemptions apply to those who completed secondary or higher education in English in Australia, English-speaking Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, or the USA. All applicants who earned their degree outside the Flemish Community must apply through the central admissions office and include the required core documents.
