Yes, in most cases. UNAM, Tecnológico de Monterrey, IPN, and UAM are well-recognized institutions listed on anabin. A 5-year licenciatura from these institutions is accepted as equivalent to a German bachelor's at virtually all German universities. A 4-year licenciatura from a recognized institution is accepted at most universities, especially with a strong GPA.

Mexican students have a well-established admissions pathway to German universities. DAAD Mexico City has published clear guidance for years, and Mexican degrees (licenciatura) are well-known to German admissions offices. The key variables are whether your licenciatura is 4 or 5 years (affects recognition level), your German or English language certificate, and your application timing.

Choose your program: German-taught programs require B2/C1 German (TestDaF TDN 4 or DSH-2). English-taught programs (mostly master's level) require IELTS 6.5+ or TOEFL 90+. Use StudyinEurope.eu and daad.de.
Check your Mexican credential on anabin.kmk.org: Search for "Mexiko" and your institution (UNAM, TEC, UAM, IPN, etc.). Your licenciatura recognition level is listed there.
Prepare your documents: Official transcripts (in Spanish — certified translation to German or English needed), Título or Cédula Profesional, language certificate, CV, motivation letter, passport.
Apply via uni-assist (uni-assist.de) for most German universities. Fee: €75 first application, €30 additional. Deadlines: 15 July (winter/October start), 15 January (summer/April start).
After admission: Apply for your student visa (see visa guide), open your blocked account, arrange health insurance, and register at the Bürgeramt within 14 days of arrival in Germany.

Licenciatura 5 años (e.g. UNAM, IPN)	Generally equivalent to a German bachelor's. Strong recognition — accepted for master's entry at most German universities.
Licenciatura 4 años	Accepted at many universities but some may require a top GPA (Promedio 8.5+/10 or equivalent). Verify via anabin per institution.
Bachillerato	Mexican preparatoria generally qualifies for bachelor's entry, subject to German language requirements.
Document translation	Spanish documents must be translated by a sworn translator (Übersetzer) to German. English translations also accepted at many universities.
