This master's program requires applicants to submit a letter of motivation explaining their interest in the course, along with an official copy of their bachelor's degree certificate and transcripts. English test results must be official and valid. Alternatively, applicants may submit proof that the entire bachelor's program was conducted in English through an official signed and stamped certificate. Degrees earned in English-speaking countries are also accepted. However, DUOLINGO and EF SET tests are not considered valid proof of English proficiency.

This program focuses on the integration of animal metabolism, welfare, and production systems within sustainable and circular economy frameworks. Students explore advanced topics including metabolic diseases, stress physiology, reproductive management, and sustainable disease control in farm animals. Courses also address circular agri-food business models, contaminants in production, and data-driven innovations such as machine learning and sustainable feed strategies. The second year includes internships and a final examination, with options for international mobility and research-based thesis preparation.

Admission to this program requires a degree in food and agriculture sciences or animal production and zootechnical technologies. Alternatively, applicants may qualify with sufficient credits in key areas such as veterinary anatomy, pathology, physiology, animal nutrition, breeding, pharmacology, and agricultural economics. English proficiency at B2 level is mandatory, and non-native speakers must also meet Italian language requirements. Applicants without a degree at the time of application must graduate by the end of the year to complete enrollment. EU students typically pay around €1,200/year based on family income. This five-year professional degree offers a competency-based, integrated veterinary curriculum designed to equip graduates with the practical competencies needed to independently perform entry-level veterinary tasks and duties from their first day in practice. Core subjects follow the European System of Evaluation of Veterinary Training requirements and other EU and international directives. Students benefit from early, hands-on exposure to animal care, husbandry, and clinical practice, supported by advanced simulation and skills-training facilities, an on-campus small animal veterinary teaching hospital, and a range of partnerships offering further practical training opportunities. The first two years build a broad scientific foundation, covering animal welfare, behavior, law, and ethology, biological processes including biology and biochemistry, biostatistics and research methods, animal structure and function, animal husbandry and care, genetics and developmental biology, applied ethology, and the One Health perspective linking animal, human, and environmental health. The third and fourth years introduce wildlife conservation, immunology and microbiology, animal nutrition and metabolism, pathology and pathophysiology, farm animal production, epidemiology and public health, infectious diseases, pharmacology, animal reproduction, and foundational veterinary clinical skills. The fifth and sixth years cover zoonoses, parasitology, veterinary pharmacology and toxicology, diagnostic imaging, small animal medicine, and further clinical skills training in small animals and equine practice, followed by food microbiology, shelter medicine, farm animal medicine, and equine medicine and surgery. Later coursework covers food quality assurance and inspection, herd health management, gross pathology, small animal medicine and surgery, anesthesiology and emergency and critical care medicine, farm animal surgery, and clinic management and legislation within the veterinary profession, alongside a capstone project. The program concludes with extensive supervised clinical training across small animals, farm animals, and equine practice, complemented by elective coursework in areas such as animal-assisted therapy, companion animal nutrition, animal health products and services, and the role of animals in social development.

Applicants from public and private schools in Cyprus and Greece must hold a high school leaving certificate with an average grade of at least 18 out of 20, or the equivalent of 90%, and must have passed Biology plus at least one of Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics; equivalent qualifications from comparable education systems may also be considered. Applicants from public and private schools in Germany must have an average grade corresponding to at least 2.3 on the Abitur, having completed Biology plus at least one of Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics during their qualification phase. Applicants from other international education systems must have an average grade of at least 90% or its equivalent, along with a pass in Biology plus at least one of Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics, or equivalent results on GCE A Levels or the International Baccalaureate at Higher Level. Applicants still completing the first term of their final year of secondary school may apply for conditional admission, with final admission confirmed once completed grades are submitted. Applicants who hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university in a relevant field may also be considered for first-year entry, and those transferring from accredited medical, dental, or veterinary degree programs may be granted admission with advanced standing.

All applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency, which can be met through a secondary school certificate or a bachelor's degree from an institution where English was the language of instruction, or through an internationally recognized English-language qualification at CEFR level B2 or above; this requirement is waived for applicants holding British, Canadian, Australian, US, or New Zealand nationality. Applicants must also provide an academic reference or letter of recommendation from a teacher or lecturer, certified by their school or university, and relevant voluntary work experience, such as in hospitals, rehabilitation or palliative care facilities, or charitable and relief organizations, is taken into consideration during admission.

The program covers 32 core courses, 12 electives, humanities, and four semesters of a foreign language. Early semesters focus on biology, chemistry, and legal foundations, progressing to specialized subjects like horse physiology and breeding. Students complete two internships aligned with breeding and care practices, including participation during major equestrian events. The final semesters deepen expertise in horse use and care, culminating in a Bachelor's thesis in Equine Breeding, Use and Care.

To be admitted, candidates must present a legalized or apostilled secondary school certificate and academic transcript with an explanation of the grading system. They must also prove English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level through a recognized certificate, unless their education was in English. One subject grade (e.g., biology, math, chemistry, physics, etc.) is required depending on the program. A valid health certificate and copy of passport are also mandatory.
