Important Notes

Norway is not an EU member but is part of the EEA/Schengen area. Non-EU students need a student residence permit from the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI).

Tuition at Norwegian public universities is free for everyone, including non-EU students, for most programs. The only costs are a semester fee (approximately NOK 600).

Living costs in Norway are among the highest in Europe — accommodation, food, and transport can total NOK 12,000–16,000 per month.
