This master's program provides interdisciplinary training in nuclear applications for students from various scientific and engineering backgrounds. The first semester builds foundational knowledge in nuclear science, radiation detection, data analysis, and essential skills. The second and third semesters expand on core topics like nuclear physics and chemistry while allowing students to specialize in one of four areas: Nuclear Technology, Medical Physics, Nuclear Waste Disposal, or Nuclear Chemistry. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 180 ECTS credits over three years) in a related field such as chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering, physics, or medical engineering. For admission in the summer semester, proof of at least 5 ECTS credits in a nuclear-related subject (e.g., radiation protection, nuclear chemistry, or medical physics) is also required. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency with a minimum of 68 points on the TOEFL iBT or an IELTS score of 5.5. German language proficiency at B1 level is also required. A motivation letter outlining the chosen specialization and career goals, along with a tabular CV, must be submitted with the application.
