In Portugal, students' performance is evaluated according to the grade point scale as explained below:

Upon completion of upper secondary school, students in Portugal are required to pass a national examination in order for them to be able to apply for higher education studies. This exam is graded according to an assessment scale that ranges from a minimum passing grade of 95 points to a maximum of 200 points.
