The Luxembourgish grading system

The Luxembourgish grading system varies depending on the level of education.

  • At higher education level, students' performance is evaluated by following a grade point scale that ranges from a minimum passing grade of 10 to a maximum grade point of 20.
  • At upper secondary level, the assessment scale ranges from a minimum passing grade point of 30 to a maximum grade point of 60.

If you are applying for university studies in Luxembourg as an undergraduate student, your grades from upper secondary school from your home country will be converted into the Luxembourgish grade point scale.

You may use the European grades comparison chart to learn the equivalence of your grades in Europe.
