Q: What is Universitaly and do I have to use it?

Universitaly is the Italian government portal for foreign student pre-enrollment. Non-EU students must submit their pre-enrollment through Universitaly AND physically bring a printed copy to the Italian consulate/embassy in their home country. EU students do not need this step.

Q: Which Italian universities have the most English-taught programs?

The April 30 pre-enrollment deadline is absolute for non-EU students — missing it means you cannot start until the following academic year.

Many popular programs (medicine, architecture, engineering, fine arts) have additional entrance examinations — TOLC, IMAT, or faculty-specific tests with separate registration deadlines.

The Dichiarazione di Valore (a notarized evaluation of your foreign degree) must be obtained from the Italian consulate in your home country and takes several weeks.

Italian language proficiency (B2) is required for Italian-taught programs; Politecnico di Milano, Bocconi, and Luiss offer extensive English-language programs.
