In Hungary, students' performance is evaluated by following the grade point scale as indicated in the table below:
International scale | Hungarian scale |
---|---|
A (excellent) |
5 |
B (very good, with few errors) |
4 |
C (good, with some errors) |
3 |
D (satisfactory, with many errors) |
2 |
E (sufficient. This is the minimum passing grade) |
2 |
A grade point of 1 is considered as failed.
Institutions may also apply either a three-grade scale (5 (excellent) / 3 (satisfactory) / 1 (fail)) or any other grading system as long as it can be compared with the others.
