The Greek grading system varies depending on the level of education.
Higher education institutions (Universities and Polytechnics) evaluate student performance by following the grade point scale below:
International scale | Greek grade point scale | Description |
---|---|---|
A (Excellent) |
8,50 - 10,00 |
Ἀριστα |
B (Very good, with few errors) |
6,50 - 8,49 | Λίαν καλώς |
E (Sufficient. This is the minimum passing grade) |
5,00 - 6,49 | Καλώς |
If you are applying for university studies in Greece as an undergraduate student (first cycle), your grades from upper secondary school from your home country will be converted into a grade point scale with a maximum grade point of 20 and a minimum grade point of 10.
You may use the European grades comparison chart to learn how you would score in Europe.
