If you plan to study at university in Germany, you will have to follow the registration steps as explained below:
01Contact your university's Registrar's Office (Studierendensekrekatriat) to receive your application form. In some cases, the application form is available on the Internet, but it may also happen you will need to ask to have it sent by post to your home address.
Some universities take care of the entire registration process by themselves. However, some other institutions rely on external agencies (for example, Uni-Assist) to manage applications. Your university will inform you whether to continue the application process with those external agencies.
02Ask your university about the documentation you need to submit to apply for the study program or courses of your choice.
03Fill in your application form and return it to your university. Don't forget to attach attested copies of other requested documents like your certificate of German language.
Please, note that for some competitive study programs, students may be ranked based on their grades from previous studies. You may use the European grades comparison chart to learn how you would score in Europe.
