Tuition fees in Belgium vary depending on whether the program is offered by an institution in the Flemish, German-speaking, or French community.

Tuition fees at institutions in the Flemish community

Students at Flemish public institutions have to both a fixed registration fee and a variable fee per credit of study. For the academic year 2014/2015, the registration fee was 61.90 EUR, while each credit of study was worth 0.70 to 9.30 EUR for EU students, and 0.70 to up to about 25 EUR for non-EU students depending on the student's income, study program and on whether the student is eligible for a grant/scholarship.

Please, note that, in Europe, a year of study is worth 60 ECTS (credits).

Tuition fees at institutions in the French community

Tuition fees at public universities and colleges in the French Community of Belgium are set by the regional government.

For the academic year 2015/2016, tuition fees ranged from 374 to 836.96 EUR per year for EU students depending on their income and whether they are eligible for a grant/scholarship. Non-EU students have to pay higher tuition fees, ranging from 890 to up to 4175 EUR per year.

Tuition fees for programs in the German-speaking community

Tuition fees range from 100 to 600 EUR, although the majority of students pay an average fee of 425 EUR.
