Admission & Application
How the system works
Most Swedish universities use a centralized application portal called University Admissions (universityadmissions.se), with main deadlines in mid-January for autumn intake. You will typically need a bachelor's degree (or equivalent), proof of English proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 90 are common thresholds), and program-specific documents such as a statement of purpose and letters of recommendation. Some highly competitive programs at KTH or Karolinska require additional portfolios or interviews. Non-EU students must also apply for a residence permit through the Swedish Migration Agency once accepted.
