This master's program combines methodological training with thematic specialization. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent and meet English language proficiency requirements. Admission is based on a motivation letter (50%) and an interview (50%). The letter (max 5000 characters) should explain the applicant’s motivation, background, and research interests related to digital-era politics and governance. To be invited to the interview, a minimum of 51 points is required on the letter. The interview further explores motivation, research interests, and readiness to adapt academically and culturally. A minimum combined score of 66 out of 100 is needed for admission.

The International Relations program offers three specialization tracks: Crime, Justice and Security; International Affairs; and European Affairs. It provides an interdisciplinary education focusing on politics, law, economics, sociology, and data analysis. Each curriculum integrates area-specific content such as international criminal justice, EU policies, conflict resolution, foreign policy, and global challenges. This program in International Relations admits students from a range of backgrounds including philosophy, geography, modern languages, economics, law, political science, sociology, statistics, and related fields. Students who have not yet graduated may still apply if they meet the minimum credit requirements by the application deadline and complete their degree by the end of the calendar year. The International Cooperation on Human Rights and Intercultural Heritage program offers two specialization tracks. The Protection of Human Rights and International Cooperation track focuses on development, political systems, justice, migration, and international law, preparing students for roles in international institutions and humanitarian agencies. The International Cooperation on Intercultural Heritage track explores anthropology, cultural memory, sustainability, and identity, equipping students for careers in cultural diplomacy and heritage management. The International Cooperation on Human Rights and Intercultural Heritage program accepts applicants with degrees in cultural heritage, peace studies, humanities, social sciences, law, economics, communication, education, and related disciplines. It requires specific ECTS credits in social, legal, and historical areas, with three eligibility groups defining direct or conditional access. English proficiency at B2 level is mandatory, demonstrated through recognized certifications or academic background. Italian proficiency is not required at entry, but basic knowledge is necessary during the program to participate in certain elective courses. This master's program focuses on international development, education, and global cooperation, preparing students to address complex social, economic, and environmental challenges. It combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills for work in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams, project design, and global communication. Core courses cover topics such as development policy, economic and political dimensions of development, project management, sustainability, and intercultural learning. Students develop advanced research skills and complete a thesis. The program includes elective modules, language studies, and optional internships, with a strong emphasis on applying research methods to real-world educational and development contexts. It equips graduates for careers in NGOs, international organizations, government, and research institutions.

To apply for this master's program, applicants must hold a higher education degree that qualifies them for master's-level studies in the awarding country. While degrees in educational sciences or social sciences such as development studies are preferred and awarded more points during evaluation, other academic backgrounds may be accepted if supported by strong motivation. Degrees must come from officially recognized institutions. Conditional admission is possible for students still completing their degree at the time of application, provided all documents are submitted by the given deadline. Applicants already enrolled in the same program at the university are not eligible to reapply. English proficiency must be shown through accepted international tests—IELTS (minimum 6.5), TOEFL iBT (92), PTE Academic (62), Cambridge C1 or C2 exams—or via previous education completed in English in approved countries. Finland’s national YKI test is also accepted with a minimum grade of 5 in all components.
