If you hold a higher education degree from an institution outside Sweden and would like to receive an evaluation of your foreign qualifications, you will have to submit your application to Högskoleverket, the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education, by following the steps as explained below:
01 Fill in the application form with the requested data
02 Along with the application form, you will have to attach attested copies of the documents listed below:
- Your academic certificate or university diploma
- An official transcript of your academic record. Please, note that if your degree was awarded in Canada, USA, Eritrea, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Sudan or Ethiopia, you will have to ask your university to submit your official academic record directly to the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education (Högskoleverket)
- A proof of your identity. You may attach a copy of your Swedish "personbevis" or a copy of your passport where personal data can be read
You will also have to attach attested translations of your documents if they were not originally issued in Spanish, English, French, German, Swedish or any other Nordic language. You may present your documents in any of the languages previously mentioned.
03 In most cases, the application form and the documentation described above are sufficient to receive an evaluation of your foreign qualifications. However, in some particular cases you may also have to present additional documentation depending on the country where your degree was awarded. Although the response time may vary depending on the case, the evaluation of your foreign qualifications takes approximately 4 months after all documentation has been submitted. In the event you submit your application and some additional documents are needed, Högskoleverket will contact you by post or by email immediately.
