Language requirements for studies at university in Sweden

Swedish

A passing result in TISUS test (Test i svenska för universitets- och högskolestudier, Test in Swedish for University Studies).

If you completed your upper secondary studies having Danish, Norwegian or Icelandic as your mother language, then you meet the requirement in Swedish.

If you completed your upper secondary studies in Findland and your mother language is Finnish, then you must have studied Swedish throughout 3 or more years to meet the requirement in Swedish.

Please, observe that it is not sufficient to have Swedish as mother language to meet the requirement. You will have to prove your knowledge of Swedish by any of the options previously mentioned.

English

You can prove your knowledge of English by showing any of the following documents: TOEFL: you will need a minimum score of 173 points (computer-based test)

or

Cambridge First Certificate in English, with a minimum grade of B

or

Your studies at upper secondary school may also make you meet the basic eligibility. However, since studies of foreign languages vary greatly depending on the school, it is not always possible to meet the basic requirement in English solely with your school studies.
