If you hold a higher education degree from an institution outside Spain and would like to receive an evaluation of your foreign qualifications, you will have to submit your application to Ministerio de Educación de España, the Spanish National Ministry of Education, by following the steps as explained below:
01 Fill in the application form with the requested data
02 Along with the application form, you will have to attach attested copies of the documents listed below:
- Your academic certificate or university diploma
- An official transcript of your academic record
- A proof of your identity. You may attach a copy of your Spanish “NIE" (Número de Identificación de Extranjeros) or a copy of your passport where personal data can be read
You will also have to attach attested translations of your documents if they were not originally issued in Spanish.
03 In most cases, the application form and the documentation described above are sufficient to receive an evaluation of your foreign qualifications. However, in some particular cases you may also have to present additional documentation depending on the country where your degree was awarded.
04 When you are ready, you will have to submit your application to the following address:

How much does it cost to apply for an evaluation of your foreign qualifications?
The fee to receive an evaluation of your foreign qualifications in Spain varies depending on the type of degree awarded according to the list below:
- PhD studies: 118 EUR
- Master of Science degrees, such as Civil Engineering or Architecture: 80 EUR
- Bachelor’s degrees: 40 EUR
- Music, Arts and Design studies: 80 EUR

How long does it take to receive an evaluation of your foreign qualifications?
Although the response time may vary depending on the case, the evaluation of your foreign qualifications takes approximately 6 months after all documentation has been submitted. In the event you submit your application and some additional documents are needed, the Ministerio de Educación will contact you by post or by email immediately.
