This year, Sweden has introduced full tuition fees for non-EU students. According to the statistics provided by Verket för Högskoleservice
, the number of international students interested in studying in Sweden has dropped considerably compared to the number of applicants from last year.
More specifically, the number of applicants to master’s programs in Sweden has dropped 73% compared to the number of applicants from last year. In the case of international courses offered at Swedish universities and colleges, the drop amounts to 86% compared to the statistics from last year.
These results were expected as the same trend has been seen in other countries that have newly introduced full tuition fees for non-EU students, such as the case of Denmark. However, what’s your opinion? How important are tuition fees when deciding where to study in Europe?
